How is a Credit Score calculated?

Your credit score is calculated based on the information in your credit report. The factors that can affect your score include: how easy it is to verify your identity, how you’ve managed credit you’ve taken on in the past, and how you’re using credit now.

How much credit you’re using, how much credit you have available to you, and if you’ve missed any credit repayments, or defaulted on any agreements in the past, will also affect your credit score. As your credit report generally looks back six years to calculate your score, the credit reference agency will use your address history from the last six years, to ensure your score’s as accurate as possible.
