If you need to shut down or restart your device, here’s how to do it safely for our Flex, mobile and portable card readers.
To start, take the handset off of the base/charging unit.
Hold down the yellow ‘clear’ key, and the (,) comma key which will cause the screen to power off.
Do not put the handset back onto the base/charging unit or it will power back on.
Switch off the power at the wall socket and unplug your base/charging unit from the mains.
When all unplugged, place the handset back onto base/charging unit. The device will remain off.
To power back on, simply plug the power cable connecting the base unit to the mains and switch the socket on. Once the handset is on the base unit it will power back up.
Start by unplugging the wires on your card reader. Then use a soft use a lint-free wipe or microfibre cloth, with a small amount of low-concentrate disinfectant to clean the outside of it only.
To help prevent damage to your card reader, please avoid:
• spraying cleaners directly on to the card reader or get moisture in any openings
• cleaning the electrical connections or put anything into the slot of the card reader
• using solvents, detergents, aerosol sprays or abrasive products
• exposing the card reader to direct sunlight or use alcohol solutions on the plastic display
